What is Branson's Buddies?
Branson's Buddies is a team that we ( Alex and Crystal Benefiel) started for The March of Dimes. We started the team in 2012. We put this team together in memory of our son Branson Alex Benefiel who we lost to prematurity in April of 2011. The team is made up of us, our friends and family. We are located in Francisco, IN and are representing the Gibson/Pike area.

What is Ride for Babies?
We had the first Ride for Babies in April of 2012. It was very successful with a turnout of over 100 riders! Last year's ride was based in Princeton, but we are moving it to Petersburg this year for a change of scenery. All proceeds from this benefit will go directly to the March of Dimes. The March of Dimes uses these funds to help fund research and to assist families and facilities right here in our area that have children in the neonatal intensive care unit as well as pregnant women who are facing problems in their pregnancy that might lead to prematurity. They have installed webcams in the St. Mary's Nicu to assist families who are away in viewing their premature infants, and they also make donations to mothers who need medication to stop preterm labor. We have had to use these medications ourselves. We were not able to catch things soon enough with Branson, but with the help of these medications we were able to have a healthy daughter last year at 37 weeks! These medications can be very expensive and insurances will not cover them unfortunately. Being able to save another baby's life is very important to our team.
This year our team will be hosting another Ride for Babies beginning and ending at the Old Petersburg Gym on Walnut
St. in Petersburg, IN. It will consist of a blessing of the
bikes as well as a 5 stop ride. Following the ride
everyone is invited to stay at the last stop to enjoy concessions, music and raffles. We are hoping for another great turnout!
